Game Viewing
We have a wonderful collection of wildlife such as Eland, Springbok, Zebra, Gemsbok, Klipspringer and Grey Rhebuck. The watering hole is accessible by foot and car.
Guests are often treated to moments where animals gather peacefully to drink, graze and interact — offering great photographic opportunities and the chance to simply sit back and appreciate nature. Keep an eye out for additional species too, as birds of prey, small antelope and nocturnal visitors often make surprise appearances at dawn and dusk.
Hiking
Enjoy the magnificent Little Karoo scenery whilst traversing any one of our several hiking trails.
Wander across open plains, climb rocky ridge lines, and take in panoramic views that stretch endlessly across the landscape. Along the way, you may encounter wildlife, unique rock formations, and an impressive variety of hardy Karoo flora perfectly adapted to this semi-arid environment.

4x4 Routes
Get off the beaten track and traverse one of our specialised 4x4 trails. Ideal for those who enjoy unforgettable adventure, you are welcome to use your own 4x4 vehicle.
Along the way, you’ll experience quiet corners of the farm that can’t be reached on foot, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the views, and capture incredible photos of the surrounding mountains. Keep a lookout — wildlife often appears unexpectedly around bends or resting near the slopes.
Mountain Biking
Bring along your mountain bike for some great off-road fun. Our routes take you across open plains, winding around rocky outcrops and into hidden valleys, offering both flowing sections and more technical challenges for enthusiastic riders.
Experience the fresh Karoo air and wide-open landscapes as you pedal through quiet stretches of nature, spotting wildlife along the way and enjoying the sense of freedom that only off-road cycling can bring. Town Visits
Sometimes you want to leave the farm for a bit — a quick visit to explore the small town of Montagu ( about 48 km from Desert Wind. Then it’s back to the peace and quiet of farm life.
